A native vine of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, The first historical record of this wine dates back to 1282. Grapes are partially dried on a rush matting. Slight ruby red in colour, verging on purplish. A strongly fruited red wine with spicy notes.
Made with grapes: 100% Schioppettino
Harvest: Hand harvesting with boxes and selection of healthy grapes at the end of September.
Vinification temperature:Maceration in stainless steel containers for eight days, then ageing in small oak barrels for six months.
Tasting notes:Full strong bodied, well-orchestrated, savoury.
Gastronomy:Goes well with roast red meat. Excellent with poultry and hard cheese.
